I’ve done this myself. Looking for a theme for all of my writing. Trying to chase after those ad words and SEO back when everyone was saying that was the best approach to blog. It caused me to obsess over numbers rather than focus on the writing.

I admit the success of this article has been my ONLY successful one thus far. I want to repeat the feat, but I also don’t want to again fall into the trap of trying to please my readers rather than write for myself.

Write for yourself and only yourself. No one else. That’s what I mean when I say: just write.
